Pink Salt Lake & Salt Train – Torrevieja

One of the most unique sights on the Costa Blanca South.

Torrevieja's famous Laguna Rosa, or Pink Lake, is part of the protected Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja Natural Park. Its remarkable pink colour varies depending on the season and conditions.

One of the best ways to experience the salt lake is aboard the Torrevieja Salt Train, which takes visitors into the working salt flats to see the lagoon and enormous white salt mountains.

Tabarca Island

A fantastic full-day trip on the Mediterranean.

Tabarca is a small island off the Alicante coast, known for its clear water, marine reserve and historic walled village.

Explore the narrow streets, swim or snorkel and enjoy lunch at one of the island's seafood restaurants.

For guests staying around La Zenia and Orihuela Costa, Santa Pola is a convenient departure point, with regular boat connections during the main season.

Alicante & Santa Bárbara Castle

Spend a day exploring Alicante, around one hour from La Zenia and Orihuela Costa.

Visit Santa Bárbara Castle for spectacular views over Alicante and the Mediterranean, then walk through the old town towards the palm-lined Explanada de España and marina.

Alicante is also a great choice for shopping, tapas, restaurants and an evening in the city.

BERG tip: Start at the castle and work your way down towards the old town and marina.

Wine Tasting & Vineyards

The Alicante region has a long winemaking tradition, and visiting a local vineyard is a great way to experience something different away from the coast.

BERG tip: Book vineyard visits in advance, especially at weekends and during the main holiday season.

Guardamar del Segura & the Dunes

Guardamar is known for its long sandy beaches, dunes and distinctive pine forest.

Walk or cycle through Parque Alfonso XIII, continue towards the beach and finish with lunch or a walk along the seafront.

It's an easy half-day trip and a lovely change from the busier areas of Orihuela Costa.

La Mata Natural Park

The La Mata side of the Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja Natural Park is perfect for an easy nature walk.

Follow marked routes around the lagoon, enjoy the viewpoints and keep an eye out for flamingos and other local birdlife.

Torrevieja Seafront & Harbour

Torrevieja is an easy place to spend a few hours exploring the seafront, harbour and town centre.

Stop for lunch or tapas, enjoy a walk by the Mediterranean or combine your visit with the Pink Salt Lake and Salt Train.

Walk the Orihuela Costa Coastline

Sometimes one of the best things to do in Orihuela Costa is right outside your door.

Walk sections of the coastline between Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig and Campoamor, passing beaches, rocky coves and beautiful Mediterranean viewpoints.

Stop along the way for coffee, lunch or a swim.
